Where everything is

The Moon is new, invisible beside the Sun; the tradition reads it as the quiet start of a lunar month.

Sun is at 6°13′ Virgo in the tropical zodiac, 11°55′ Leo in the sidereal, gate 40 line 1 in Human Design. The tradition associates Sun with authority, health and where one stands on one's own account.

Moon is at 12°54′ Virgo in the tropical zodiac, 18°37′ Leo in the sidereal, gate 64 line 2 in Human Design. The tradition associates Moon with mood, appetite and what is needed rather than wanted.

Mercury is at 6°51′ Virgo in the tropical zodiac, 12°34′ Leo in the sidereal, gate 40 line 2 in Human Design, and retrograde; a Mercury retrograde is read as a fortnight or so of things going back for a second look: messages, plans, paperwork. The tradition associates Mercury with talking, writing, negotiating and the paperwork nobody enjoys.

Uranus is at 22°31′ Gemini in the tropical zodiac, 28°14′ Taurus in the sidereal, gate 45 line 6 in Human Design. The tradition associates Uranus with the sudden, the unconventional and the break with what was.

Neptune is at 12°54′ Aries in the tropical zodiac, 18°37′ Pisces in the sidereal, gate 21 line 4 in Human Design, and retrograde; an outer planet is retrograde for months at a time; the tradition reads it as the theme turned inward. The tradition associates Neptune with what is blurred, longed for and dissolved.

Pluto is at 10°17′ Aquarius in the tropical zodiac, 15°59′ Capricorn in the sidereal, gate 19 line 3 in Human Design, and retrograde; an outer planet is retrograde for months at a time; the tradition reads it as the theme turned inward. The tradition associates Pluto with what is buried, and what is forced up.

Rahu is at 12°25′ Sagittarius in the tropical zodiac, 18°08′ Scorpio in the sidereal, gate 5 line 2 in Human Design. The tradition associates the nodes with appetite and the unfamiliar; Ketu, opposite it, detachment and endings.

In Human Design

The Sun is in gate 40, aloneness, line 1, the Investigator line: the gate the whole day is read through, and the line it sits on. The Moon is in gate 64, confusion, line 2, the Hermit line, and moves on within hours. Each gate has its own page in the library: gate 40 and gate 64.

Times in UTC. A line is a sixth of a gate, a little under a degree; the Moon crosses one every hour or two. Where the Sun's gate is the day's theme, the tradition reads the Moon's as the hour's, and neither is a forecast.

Tight aspects at noon

Venus sextile Uranus, 0.1° from exact and opening: an easy opening between the two.

Mars sextile Saturn, 0.2° from exact and opening: an easy opening between the two.

Neptune trine Rahu, 0.5° from exact and opening: an ease between the two that can go unused.

Moon square Rahu, 0.5° from exact and opening: friction between the two, which is where the work is.

Sun conjunction Mercury, 0.6° from exact and opening: the two acting as one.

Mars opposition Pluto, 1.6° from exact and closing: the two facing each other, and the pull to choose.

Mercury square Saturn, 1.6° from exact and opening: friction between the two, which is where the work is.

Venus square Jupiter, 1.7° from exact and opening: friction between the two, which is where the work is.

Saturn trine Pluto, 1.8° from exact and closing: an ease between the two that can go unused.

Within two degrees of exact, one for the Moon. Closing means the aspect is still tightening; opening means it has passed. The slow pairs stay for weeks and the Moon's pass in hours.

Why the two zodiacs disagree about everything above

Every body sits about 24 degrees earlier in the sidereal zodiac than in the tropical one.

Western astrology anchors its zodiac to the seasons and Vedic astrology to the stars, and the two have drifted 24.29 degrees apart. That is why a Western page and a Vedic one can name different signs for the same planet on the same day, and why neither is wrong. We show both, every time, and where a reading depends on which one was used we say so.

What turns in the next thirty days

31 Aug 2030: Venus enters Leo in the sidereal zodiac.

04 Sep 2030: Venus enters Virgo in the tropical zodiac.

12 Sep 2030: full Moon.

17 Sep 2030: Sun enters Virgo in the sidereal zodiac.

21 Sep 2030: Saturn turns retrograde. A Saturn retrograde is read as structure being tested from the inside.

23 Sep 2030: Sun enters Libra in the tropical zodiac, which is the equinox or the solstice.

23 Sep 2030: Jupiter enters Scorpio in the sidereal zodiac.

23 Sep 2030: Mars enters Leo in the sidereal zodiac.

A sign change or a station is a condition beginning or ending. The tradition reads the condition; it does not read an event into it, and neither does this page.
