Where everything is

The Moon is at first quarter, half lit and growing.

Mercury is at 25°46′ Virgo in the tropical zodiac, 1°29′ Virgo in the sidereal, gate 6 line 4 in Human Design, and retrograde; a Mercury retrograde is read as a fortnight or so of things going back for a second look: messages, plans, paperwork. The tradition associates Mercury with talking, writing, negotiating and the paperwork nobody enjoys.

Mars is at 23°19′ Scorpio in the tropical zodiac, 29°02′ Libra in the sidereal, gate 43 line 5 in Human Design. The tradition associates Mars with effort, friction and the willingness to force a thing through.

Saturn is at 24°58′ Taurus in the tropical zodiac, 0°42′ Taurus in the sidereal, gate 8 line 1 in Human Design, and retrograde; a Saturn retrograde is read as structure being tested from the inside. The tradition associates Saturn with structure, limit, work and time.

Uranus is at 18°31′ Gemini in the tropical zodiac, 24°14′ Taurus in the sidereal, gate 45 line 2 in Human Design. The tradition associates Uranus with the sudden, the unconventional and the break with what was.

Neptune is at 10°14′ Aries in the tropical zodiac, 15°58′ Pisces in the sidereal, gate 21 line 1 in Human Design, and retrograde; an outer planet is retrograde for months at a time; the tradition reads it as the theme turned inward. The tradition associates Neptune with what is blurred, longed for and dissolved.

Pluto is at 8°22′ Aquarius in the tropical zodiac, 14°05′ Capricorn in the sidereal, gate 19 line 1 in Human Design, and retrograde; an outer planet is retrograde for months at a time; the tradition reads it as the theme turned inward. The tradition associates Pluto with what is buried, and what is forced up.

Rahu is at 1°04′ Capricorn in the tropical zodiac, 6°47′ Sagittarius in the sidereal, gate 10 line 4 in Human Design. The tradition associates the nodes with appetite and the unfamiliar; Ketu, opposite it, detachment and endings.

In Human Design

The Sun is in gate 47, realisation, line 5, the Heretic line: the gate the whole day is read through, and the line it sits on. The Moon is in gate 34, power, line 1, the Investigator line, and moves on within hours. Each gate has its own page in the library: gate 47 and gate 34.

Times in UTC. A line is a sixth of a gate, a little under a degree; the Moon crosses one every hour or two. Where the Sun's gate is the day's theme, the tradition reads the Moon's as the hour's, and neither is a forecast.

Tight aspects at noon

Mercury trine Saturn, 0.8° from exact and closing: an ease between the two that can go unused.

Mars opposition Saturn, 1.7° from exact and closing: the two facing each other, and the pull to choose.

Neptune sextile Pluto, 1.9° from exact and closing: an easy opening between the two.

Within two degrees of exact, one for the Moon. Closing means the aspect is still tightening; opening means it has passed. The slow pairs stay for weeks and the Moon's pass in hours.

Why the two zodiacs disagree about everything above

Every body sits about 24 degrees earlier in the sidereal zodiac than in the tropical one.

Western astrology anchors its zodiac to the seasons and Vedic astrology to the stars, and the two have drifted 24.27 degrees apart. That is why a Western page and a Vedic one can name different signs for the same planet on the same day, and why neither is wrong. We show both, every time, and where a reading depends on which one was used we say so.
